Honey-baked Bananas with Sesame Seeds Recipe

This is a very interesting but extremely easy to make dessert. If you ever have bananas left over that are past their best, then this dessert is a great way of using them up as the age of the bananas do not matter.

This recipe is great tasting and brilliant for kids. They will love this dessert!

Honey-baked Bananas with Sesame Seeds

Serves: 4

honey baked bananas with sesame seeds. Halved bananas, baked with honey, topped with sesame seeds and served with ice cream and a sprig of mint
Ingredients:

6 bananas, sliced in half lengthways
4 tbsp runny honey
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp sesame seeds
fresh mint sprigs, to garnish
ice cream, to serve
toasted sesame seeds, to garnish

Method:

Arrange the banana halves, skin side down, on a large baking dish. Drizzle the bananas with the honey then sprinkle over the cinnamon and sesame seeds.

Transfer to an oven pre-heated to 200ºC (400ºF, Gas Mark 6) and bake for about 18 minutes or until soft and golden brown in colour.

Divide the banana halves between four plates. Garnish with sprigs of mint and a generous scoop of ice cream. Sprinkle over some toasted sesame seeds and serve.

As an alternative to baking these bananas, they could also be wrapped in foil and cooked on a barbecue until soft and cooked through.
